Telstra your sign up process is STILL CRAP

Postby Claudekrowe » Sun Aug 26, 2012 7:28 pm

A fresh story of one very frustrated Cable customer!

Also e-mail account detail lost between Telstra and Microsoft - good luck on this score!

http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-re ... ?t=1968641

I can not see the great results they have supposedly received for improved Customer Service

In some cases the customer service is hardly existent! With customers preferring to just "Walk" from deals!!

Stuffing around yet more new (this one cable) customers

http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-re ... ?t=1998270

They can not be trusted to give a customer an appointment time and stick too it!

Wasting peoples valuable time - poor soles (wanting cable) have no where else to turn

It is just plain rudeness to have a customer (and they are told to be there for four hours) lose paid work hours and have a NO SHOW

This post

http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-re ... 31&p=2#r27

is a damn good wrap on how bad Telstra's sign up "experience" is (copied and pasted ALL of it - worthy one from WP poster DiscoDad)

sigh. Telstra. Mostly useless.

Chocaus2000, I'm sorry to say that this is the level of service you get from Telstra. No surprises here for people in the know, but somewhat disappointing for you.

And it will get worse. Telstra will bumble their way through in getting copper connected to your new address so you get dialtone for voice calls, and then they will tell you that you can't have ADSL2 because the exchange is full or you can't have ADSL at all because you are too far from the exchange, or you're on a rim with no spare capacity, or your copper is not suitable for adsl at all. This will take several weeks for Telstra to finally work out.

Even worse, you apply for ADSL2+ and all the way through the painful provisioning process nobody at Telstra bothers to tell you that no spare ADSL2 ports in exchange, so you finally get it all working and you find they gave you ADSL1/M and you're lucky to get 6MB/s download.

So then you decide to cancel the new adsl contract and use Bigpond Cable, but Telstra can't won't guarantee a full refund and no further charges on the ADSL contract.

You bite the bullet and go Bigpond Cable, to find it's useless after 3pm schooldays until 10pm most nights due to 55,000 kids in your area hammering the shared cable. ( ok, not really 55,000... but feels like it somedays )

And then you try to use 3G, but that's got low signal at your house and only works in you stand on one leg in the laundry with the modem held above your head.

Betcha wishing you stayed in the old house now....

Sorry to be so gloomy, but the above summarises my experience with Telstra.

and don't get me started on noisy copper lines that Telstra don't care to fix!
