Stiff Competition in the Pay TV space

Stiff Competition in the Pay TV space

Postby Claudekrowe » Tue Dec 07, 2010 10:58 am

The fumbling Hellstra is facing a major fist fight in the hotly contested Subscription television space, and in my humble opinion, Telstra fails to package the content correctly for the shrewd consumer.

Many Australian customers of three well established ISPs (Adam, iiNet & Internode) now clearly have a competitive choice to Foxtel via T$ - Fetch TV URL for info http://www.fetchtv.com.au/
Notable additions to this service Fox Sports & heaps of Movies, Overseas channel partners and inclusive of Free To Air Digitals channels as well.

Why would you choose the Pathetic Telstra offerings (T-Box) over the above is a mystery :o3

Great info Claude

Unfortunately I have realised there will always be a group of lazy narrow minded people with a low IQ that will always make Telstra their first choice...

Telstra's deceiving Ads seem to target these sheep constantly. :(|)

Once our connection stabilises, its Fetch TV here we come! Even Fetch Lite will suit us, until Fibre rolls up to the door in the years ahead (Sooner the better)

Chris Roubis writes C'mon Telstra Bigpond... please become a Fetch TV partner

But they probably can't because they might tread heavily on their Foxtel Rulers toes!! OR should I say partners Ha Ha

no Fetch TV for PC

Postby Telstra Monopoly » Thu Apr 28, 2011 10:02 pm

I noticed fetch TV is only through a tv set top box..

I guess thats why they can charge $399.00 for the set top box or $0.00 on a 24 month contract.

Fetch TV should make a Fetch TV PC plan. #-o

We have looked at all our options (not Fox IQ - Cable not avail)

Found a deal on My Star (Austar) which is a $260 six month plan, yeh ok still part owned by Fox

Catch: Have to stay a minimum three months, first month seems to have a loaded subscription for that month only!

looks like in the weighing up of the deals, Fetch TV lite has run second! Movies are pay per view, My Star includes Showtime in base deal

Looks like we will be signing up around end month for My Star ... :D

Yep, all signed up - Kids will have their new Austar in time for the school holidays

Our deal included the Movie Network channel for $14 per month B-)

With Fetch you have to pay per view of movies, we only have to watch two new release and one other to break even with Austar (over a month)

Pretty pleased with the decision in the end :ymparty:

And renting Box Office Movies is just so simple too

Best if you set up a My Account environment online!

and Wifey likes the MyStar App from off Google Play, can set up her shows to record on her Smartphone *-:)
