We (Gladstone) are in a holding pattern until at least 2015 or later!! Even more critical our copper gets the long delayed maintenance & OR Top Hats whatever we can wrangle out of Telstra we will take ... Hope that Wholesale ADSL determination is sorted once and for all during June - July too!!

Country residents give the NBN a big Thumbs Up!

http://www.sbs.com.au/news/article/1685 ... ush-Conroy

The equalisation of access price across city to farm is a great "fair go" principal that each "ham fisted" side of politics needs to listen to and heed

Regional folk need the technology just as much as the city slickers and they should not be charged the BIG BUCKS to access it

Have bothered to download the NBN fibre roll plan, I should not have bothered to waste my time

In the PDF up to 30 June 2015, our region (Federal LNP) does not rate a mention!

YET, areas to the North - Rockhampton (LABOUR) and South - Bundaberg (LNP) will get it by then

Just can not work this "Plan" out!

Then the whole thing could get tossed out on its head around November 2013 anyrate!! 8-x

AND Couple of interesting developments in the news about the NBN recently;

* Moving to an Opt Out Roll out model (quicker?)

* NBN Co CEO (Quigley) moving most if not all shovel deals to Four Year Lock In construction contracts, not allowing dear ole Mal T much wriggle room IF and when they get control of the levers!

:-B

Is going to be a joyous thing to select NON Telstra ISP NBN Plan (inclusive of voice)
NO TELSTRA BILL FOREVER MORE :D

With the Monk (T Abbort) hitting a decline in his polling numbers that I predict will never recover, M Turnbull is coming under pressure from big Lib hitters (their faceless men and women) to stop moving policy closer to Labours broadband policy

Gosh can not they admit they got it wrong and move to a more bipartisan stance! :-B

Who knows the NBN may even yet help to swing the outcome of the 2013 federal election, as yet more and more key marginal seat households get the beneficial fibre connection :ymparty:
